Angada brings the debate back from comparisons to the evidence Ravana's own city still bears. Hanuman entered the guarded island, crushed the army sent against him, and shattered the pride that believed Lanka inaccessible.
The royal garden fell beneath his strength. Ravana's son was slain. Fire moved from roof to roof until the golden city burned against the night, and the messenger departed freely across the same sea the king had trusted as a wall.
No distant legend is needed. Blackened places, bereaved warriors, and citizens who fled at Angada's arrival remain within reach of the court. Ravana may name the servant insignificant, but Lanka has already received the servant's answer. The envoy recites each deed without ornament, placing fact after fact where pride has tried to rebuild the illusion of safety.
Hanuman is absent from the hall, yet the city he crossed and burned rises behind every word of Angada.
