Sampati Asks for the Ocean Shore and Promises Help through His Words

Sampati asks the monkeys to carry him to the edge of the ocean. Before he speaks of Sita, he must answer the news of Jatayu with the rites of a brother.
At the water he will offer tilanjali, the oblation of water and sesame, for the younger vulture who died defending Janaki in the sky.
His old body cannot join their expedition, but his speech can still serve. He promises help through words and tells them to continue the search. They will find the one they seek. Grief, sight, and remembered knowledge are gathering into guidance beside the sea.
Sampati will first give water to Jatayu, then give the searchers the direction of Sita.

मोहि लै जाहु सिंधुतट देउँ तिलांजलि ताहि । बचन सहाइ करवि मैं पैहहु खोजहु जाहि ।।27।।
'Take me to the ocean shore; I will offer water oblations to my brother. I will help you with my words. Go, search, and you will surely find her.'
