The rooster calls across the thinning night, and Lakshmana rises as dawn approaches. The garden, city, and pavilion remain dim beyond the resting camp.
Ram is already awake. The wise Lord of the world has risen before Vishwamitra, ready for the daily disciplines and service appropriate to a disciple.
Cosmic awareness does not make him careless of human order. He who awakens creation honours the sleep of his guru and waits before the first command. Dawn finds sovereignty expressed as attentiveness. Cool morning light gathers around the silent camp in reverence.
Before the rooster's call has faded, the awakener of worlds waits beside his sleeping guru.

उठे लखन निसि बिगत सुनि अरुनसिखा धुनि कान।। गुर तें पहिलेहिं जगतपति जागे रामु सुजान।।226।।
Lakshmana arose when the night had passed, hearing the rooster's call at dawn. But the wise Rama, Lord of the world, had awakened even before His Guru.
