Hope has filled the watching hearts. Women with beautiful faces and luminous eyes lean from windows and terraces as the brothers pass below.
Flowers begin to fall around Ram and Lakshmana. The city makes an offering from above, soft petals descending over yellow garments, bows, dark curls, and the street before their feet.
Wherever the pair walks, supreme bliss follows. It does not remain an inward feeling hidden behind palace screens. Joy becomes visible in crowded windows, lifted hands, abandoned tasks, and blossoms turning ordinary roads into a path of welcome.
Petals follow the brothers through Mithila, marking every street where bliss has passed.
Read the passage from the Manas
हियँ हरषहिं बरषहिं सुमन सुमुखि सुलोचनि बृंद। जाहिं जहाँ जहँ बंधु दोउ तहँ तहँ परमानंद।।223।।
Hearts rejoiced, and crowds of beautiful-faced, lovely-eyed women showered flowers upon them. Wherever the two brothers walked, there supreme bliss (paramaananda) prevailed.
