The brothers stand in the first bloom of youth, one dark and one fair. Each is an abode of beauty and a dwelling place in which joy feels fully at home.
Every limb holds such splendour that crores upon crores of Kamadevas could be lovingly offered before it. The comparison does not turn beauty into rivalry. It expresses the surrender of created charm before its source.
Mithila's women gaze from above while the princes walk below, unaware of the devotional offerings being made within countless hearts. Youth, strength, grace, and innocence pass together through the street.
At every step, unseen hearts offer millions of gods of beauty before the brothers.
Read the passage from the Manas
बय किसोर सुषमा सदन स्याम गौर सुख घाम। अंग अंग पर वारिअहिं कोटि कोटि सत काम।।220।।
In the bloom of youth, abodes of beauty: one dark, one fair, each a dwelling place of joy. On every limb of theirs, crores upon crores of Kamadevas could be lovingly sacrificed.
