Vishwamitra asks Dasharatha to give both princes gladly. The request is not for reluctant surrender in which the hand obeys while the heart clings and protests.
The king must set aside delusion and ignorance, trusting a purpose larger than parental fear. What looks like exposure to danger will bring dharma and noble fame to Dasharatha.
For the sons, the journey carries the highest blessing. Service to the sage will open powers, victories, Ahalya's release, Mithila, and the meeting with Sita. The forest road is grace before anyone in the court can see its destination.
The sage asks Dasharatha to open his hands before he can know where the forest road leads.

देहु भूप मन हरषित तजहु मोह अग्यान। धर्म सुजस प्रभु तुम्ह कौं इन्ह कहँ अति कल्यान।।207।।
"Give them gladly, O king, and set aside all delusion and ignorance. This will bring you dharma and noble fame, and to your sons, the highest blessing."
