Love for her son absorbs Kausalya so completely that she no longer knows whether day is passing into night or night into day. Palace hours continue, but maternal attention follows another rhythm.
Each movement of Ram becomes an event sufficient to fill awareness. Sleep, waking, feeding, smiling, reaching, and the soft sounds of infancy gather into a world from which the mother does not wish to turn.
She sings of his childhood play while tending him. The voice does not divide theology from affection. The Lord of creation is her child, and the child she loves is the Lord, so lullaby and sacred praise become one song.
Day and night disappear while Kausalya sings beside the cradle.

Kausalya is lost in love, unaware whether day passes or night. Bound by affection for her son, the mother sings of his childhood play.
