The child resting against Kausalya is the all pervading Brahman, stainless and beyond every guna. No action, diversion, or play can bind the One in whom all action appears.
He is unborn, yet maternal love holds him as a son. Devotion accomplishes what force, intellect, and cosmic law cannot: infinity accepts the gentle boundary of a lap.
The paradox is not resolved by denying either side. Brahman remains all pervading, and Kausalya truly rocks her child. Leela is the freedom by which the boundless Lord allows love to become his sweetest bond.
Beyond all qualities and birth, Brahman rests where Kausalya's arms close around him.

ब्यापक ब्रह्म निरंजन निर्गुन बिगत बिनोद। सो अज प्रेम भगति बस कौसल्या के गोद।।198।।
The all-pervading Brahman, stainless, beyond all gunas, beyond every sport and diversion: that Unborn One, bound by the power of love and devotion, now plays in Kausalya's lap.
