One child remains to be named after Ram, Bharat, and Shatrughna. Vasishtha beholds in him the abode of every auspicious mark, a life already turned toward Ram with incomparable dearness.
He is the support of the entire world, the unseen strength that will follow his elder brother through forest, battle, exile, and return. Service is not secondary in him. It carries the weight of creation through love.
The guru gives the noble name Lakshmana. Sound and destiny meet beneath the naming canopy. The infant resting among flowers receives the name by which generations will remember vigilance, brotherhood, and unwavering attendance upon Ram.
Vasishtha speaks Lakshmana, and the support of the world receives the name of service.
