The request is spoken plainly before the crown among givers and treasury of compassion. No ritual language is used to hide the intimacy of what the heart desires.
They ask for a son like the Lord himself. The longing reaches beyond the vision of a moment toward relationship, nearness, care, and the daily love through which the infinite might enter a household.
What can be concealed from the One who dwells within every heart? The apparent audacity rests upon complete honesty. Having renounced kingdom and body to behold him, Manu and Shatarupa now ask that the Lord become close enough to be held as their own child.
Before the infinite Lord, two devotees ask for the unimaginable tenderness of calling him son.

दानि सिरोमनि कृपानिधि नाथ कहउँ सतिभाउ।। चाहउँ तुम्हहि समान सुत प्रभु सन कवन दुराउ।।149।।
"O crown among givers, O treasury of compassion, O Lord, I speak my true heart: I desire a son who is like You. What is there to hide from the Lord?"
