The treasury of compassion speaks to the couple standing before him. Their ages of longing, the relinquished kingdom, the wasted body restored by his voice, and the prostration at his feet have all been received.
He declares himself supremely pleased. The words remove every fear that their austerity was unseen or their desire too bold for fulfilment. Divine delight now answers the love that would accept no substitute for his presence.
They may ask whatever the heart desires, for they stand before the greatest of all givers. The open boon contains no stated limit. Yet after beholding Ram and Sita, the devotees must discover what could still be asked when the giver himself is already present.
Before the greatest giver, Manu and Shatarupa search their fulfilled hearts for one remaining wish.

बोले कृपानिधान पुनि अति प्रसन्न मोहि जानि। मागहु बर जोइ भाव मन महादानि अनुमानि।।148।।
Then the Treasury of Compassion spoke: "Know that I am supremely pleased with you. Ask whatever boon your heart desires, for you stand before the greatest of all givers."
