The two gatekeepers pass onward into another birth among the night-wandering rakshasas. Their former nearness to Hari is hidden beneath immense bodies, fierce appetites, and the tamasic strength of warriors born to challenge heaven.
They become Ravana and Kumbhakarna. One rises crowned with terrible brilliance and the pride of conquered devas. The other sleeps like a mountain between awakenings, his breath heavy enough to trouble the halls around him. Their names and victories become known throughout the world.
The ancient movement now bends toward Ayodhya. A curse at Vaikuntha, battles in earlier ages, and the suffering of gods converge upon the coming human form of the Lord. The enemies of Ram are already moving toward their appointed place in his Leela.
Across the ages, Ravana's crown rises toward the hand that will one day break its pride.

भए निसाचर जाइ तेइ महाबीर बलवान। कुंभकरन रावण सुभट सुर बिजई जग जान।।122 ।
Those two (Jaya and Vijaya) went and became nishachara (night-wandering rakshasas), supremely mighty warriors. Kumbhakarna and Ravana, great champions who conquered the devas, as the whole world knows.
