Matted locks rise upon Shiva like a mountain crown, and Ganga rests within them before descending toward the worlds. His great lotus eyes hold gentleness vast enough for every creature.
The throat darkened by poison gleams blue against his fair body. Above it, the young crescent moon shines softly upon his brow. Its slender radiance touches the coils of hair without disturbing their stillness.
Every emblem of danger has become part of a treasury of beauty. River, poison, moon, and ascetic stillness meet without conflict in the form seated beneath the banyan.
The crescent shines above the blue throat while Ganga waits in the silent locks.
