Kailash is inhabited by siddhas, ascetics rich in tapas, yogis, gods, kinnaras, and assemblies of sages. Their disciplines and attainments differ, yet all have been drawn to one summit. White ridges hold their caves, fires, songs, and long unmoving vigils.
Those of great merit dwell there in service to Shiva, the root from which bliss rises. The mountain is not empty solitude but a living country of perfected aspiration.
Around Mahadeva, knowledge, austerity, music, worship, and silence become neighbouring hermitages on the same sacred height. Snow gleams beyond them in the lucid mountain air.
Upon Kailash, every path of merit bends toward Shiva, the root of bliss.
