Shiva explains again and again, but the teaching cannot take root in Sati's heart. Words of truth fall like seeds upon ground sealed by doubt. Their perfection does not force the soil to open.
Mahesh smiles, knowing the strength of Hari's maya. The smile carries patience and sorrow together. He sees that argument has reached its limit, and that Sati must encounter the consequence of her own uncertainty before another kind of understanding becomes possible.
Wisdom can offer light, but it cannot compel eyes that still need to test the sun.
The seed lies upon closed earth while Shiva recognizes the hand of maya.
