Pearl like verses lie upon the worktable, each one shaped from reflection, devotion, and the patient labour of speech. Poetic skill pierces them without breaking their lustre.
Through every opening passes one continuous thread: the story of Ram. It binds separate moments into a single ornament and keeps no pearl isolated from the purpose of the whole.
The good lift this necklace and place it upon their spotless hearts. There the verses do not merely decorate memory. Love gives them their final radiance.
The thread disappears beneath the pearls, but it holds every one against the heart.
Read the passage from the Manas
जुगुति बेधि पुनि पोहिअहिं रामचरित बर ताग। पहिरहिं सज्जन बिमल उर सोभा अति अनुराग।।11।।
These pearl-like verses, pierced with skill and strung upon the beautiful thread of Ram's story, are worn by good people on their pure hearts, shining there with the radiance of deep love.
