Rama hears words without deceit. Bharata has hidden neither devotion nor attachment, neither wisdom nor the fault he detects within his own persistence.

The Friend of the lowly does not answer with a timeless maxim detached from circumstance. He reads country, hour, assembly, family, vow, and the condition of each heart.

Wisdom speaks fittingly. The same love that once required Bharata to come to Chitrakoot now requires him to leave it. Rama's reply will give changing circumstance a stable center, showing how dharma can remain living without becoming arbitrary or losing its eternal inward allegiance.

Rama receives Bharata's guileless heart and lets eternal care take the exact form demanded by this place and hour.

Read the passage from the Manas

दीनबंधु सुनि बंधु के बचन दीन छलहीन। देस काल अवसर सरिस बोले रामु प्रबीन।।314।।

Deenabandhu, the Friend of the lowly, heard His brother's words, so humble and guileless. Rama, the Wise One (Prabeen), then spoke fittingly for the place, the time, and the occasion.
