The altar beneath the banyan is not empty. It belongs to the daily rhythm of Sita and Ram within their forest dwelling.
There they sit with assembled sages and listen to sacred narrative and history drawn from Agama, Nigama, and Purana. The exiled household becomes a quiet seat of transmission.
Royal court has fallen away, yet wisdom gathers without summons around the leaf hut. Sita and Ram do not stand above the stories as distant objects of worship. They listen among the munis, receiving the ancient streams of revelation within the shade she helped prepare. The tableau makes Chitrakoot both home and living scripture.
Beneath Sita's banyan altar, the ones sung by scripture sit among sages and listen as sacred history flows around them.

There, seated each day with the assembled munis, the wise Sita and Rama listen to every manner of katha and itihasa, drawing from the Agamas, the Nigamas, and the Puranas.
