Ram's words rise from the hermitage into the listening worlds. The gods hear not an abstract defense but the Lord's own heart opening toward Bharata.
The army still advances, dust still hangs above the forest, and Lakshmana's bow remains near. Yet compassion has changed the center of the scene from threat to brotherly love.
The gods praise Ram as the dwelling place of mercy. His greatness appears in knowing Bharata more truly than appearances allow and in answering suspicion with affection rather than accusation. Divine compassion is not distant softness. It is exact vision, holding the devotee's essence steady while every circumstance argues otherwise.
Heaven praises the Lord whose compassion sees Bharata's heart more clearly than the forest sees his army.

सुनि रघुबर बानी बिबुध देखि भरत पर हेतु। सकल सराहत राम सो प्रभु को कृपानिकेतु।।232।।
Hearing these words of the Lord of the Raghus and beholding his love for Bharata, all the gods praised Rama, that Lord who is the very abode of compassion.
