Bharata's darshan opens the hidden fortune of the people dwelling along the path. No pilgrimage plan brought them to a famous confluence.
Instead, sanctity has entered their own road in the form of a prince walking toward Ram. The distant and difficult becomes present before their homes.
The verse imagines even inhabitants of far Lanka suddenly finding Prayag within easy reach by the will of Providence. Distance collapses when devotion passes nearby. Bharata does not replace the holy place, but carries the fruit of pilgrimage into regions that may never see it. The roadside crowd discovers that grace sometimes travels to the pilgrim before the pilgrim knows to travel toward grace.
As Bharata crosses the countryside, villagers far from every famous shrine find Prayag arriving at their own threshold.

भरत दरसु देखत खुलेउ मग लोगन्ह कर भागु। जनु सिंघलबासिन्ह भयउ बिधि बस सुलभ प्रयागु।।223।।
Seeing Bharat's darshan, the good fortune of the people along the way was revealed. As if by the will of Providence, Prayag itself had come within easy reach of those dwelling in far-off Lanka.
