Bharata understands why Kausalya urged him toward the throne. Ram's mother is pure and simple in heart, and her love for Bharata is unusually deep.
She sees his wretched condition and speaks naturally from affection. Her counsel arises from the wish to relieve him and steady the shattered household, not from distrust of his devotion.
Even while he cannot follow her proposed path, Bharata refuses to misread her motive. This discernment keeps disagreement from becoming injury. He separates the spotless love of the speaker from the action her compassion recommends, preserving Kausalya's holiness within his refusal.
Bharata cannot accept Kausalya's counsel, but he receives every word as the movement of her transparent love.

Rama's mother is exceedingly pure of heart and holds special love for me. She speaks naturally, moved by deep affection, seeing my wretchedness.
