Kausalya listens to Bharata's long oath and hears truth in its simplicity. His nature stands before her without deceit, though he cannot see himself clearly through grief.

She answers with the one assurance capable of reaching the center of his anguish: dear son, you have always been beloved to Ram.

The love is complete through speech, mind, and body. Kausalya does not merely acquit Bharata of conspiracy. She restores the relationship he fears has been destroyed, speaking from her knowledge of Ram's own heart. The mother of the exiled Lord becomes witness for the brother who calls himself his enemy.

Against Bharata's ocean of self accusation, Kausalya places one unshaken truth: Ram has always loved you in every way.

Read the passage from the Manas

मातु भरत के बचन सुनि साँचे सरल सुभायँ। कहति राम प्रिय तात तुम्ह सदा बचन मन कायँ।।168।।

Hearing Bharat's words, so truthful, simple and sincere, the mother speaks: 'Dear son, you are ever beloved to Rama in word, mind and deed.'
