Vasishtha enters the storm of mourning and speaks according to the needs of the hour. He draws upon sacred histories, not to erase Dasharatha or rebuke those who weep, but to place their sorrow within a wider order.
The guru's own realized knowledge shines through the narratives. That light gradually loosens grief's total claim upon the gathered household.
Wisdom does not command tears to stop. It gives mourners enough inner distance to perform the duties now waiting in a kingless city. Through Vasishtha, illumination becomes compassionate timing: truth offered only when hearts can receive it, and offered so they may stand again.
Vasishtha lights sacred history within the mourning palace until grief releases enough space for duty to begin.

तब बसिष्ठ मुनि समय सम कहि अनेक इतिहास। सोक नेवारेउ सबहि कर निज बिग्यान प्रकास।।156।।
Then sage Vashishtha, speaking with words appropriate to the moment, related many sacred stories. With the light of his own wisdom, he gently dispelled everyone's grief.
