Valmiki imagines a mind made clear and still as the sacred Manasa lake. Across that inward water moves the tongue like a graceful swan.
It searches not for gossip, argument, or praise of self. Pearl after pearl of Ram's virtues is recognized, lifted, and cherished through speech. The lake remains spotless because the swan chooses what is luminous.
Such a heart becomes a dwelling for the Lord. Contemplation, utterance, and character join in one interior landscape: the mind as holy water, the tongue as discerning bird, divine qualities as hidden treasure. Wherever praise moves with this purity, Ram is already at home.
Across the clear lake of the mind, a swanlike tongue gathers pearls of virtue and prepares a home for Ram.

जसु तुम्हार मानस बिमल हंसिनि जीहा जासु। मुकुताहल गुन गन चुनइ राम बसहु हियँ तासु।।128।।
The one whose mind is a spotless Maanasa lake, and whose tongue is a graceful swan picking out pearl after pearl of Your virtues: O Rama, dwell forever in that one's heart.
