Remaining at home would fulfil dharma approved by guru and Veda without exposing Sita to hardship. Ram presents the path as service, not abandonment.
He then recalls Galava's severe trials and Nahusha's fall from heaven, warning that stubborn insistence can turn noble intention toward suffering.
Love becomes dangerous when it refuses discernment and calls every impulse fidelity. Ram asks Sita to distinguish steadfastness from obstinacy, devotion from the need to have one's own way. The heart must remain lucid. The forest decision must arise from truth clear enough to survive every hardship it chooses.
Ram asks love to examine itself carefully before resolve hardens into a road of avoidable sorrow.

गुर श्रुति संमत धरम फलु पाइअ बिनहिं कलेस। हठ बस सब संकट सहे गालव नहुष नरेस।।61।।
By following my counsel and staying home, you will reap the fruit of dharma as approved by the Guru and the Vedas, and all without the slightest hardship. But see what stubbornness brings: the sage Galava endured terrible trials, and King Nahusha fell from heaven itself. Hath brought them nothing but sorrow.
