Elephants, lions, rakshasas, and fierce creatures fill the forest imagined by Kausalya. Danger appears not as one obstacle but as the atmosphere of the wilderness.
Against it she places Sita, lovely as the herb that restores life itself. Can Sanjeevani belong within a garden of poison?
The question sees only incompatibility between tenderness and terror. Yet the image also quietly foretells what grace does: the life giving plant is precious precisely where poison and death prevail. Kausalya's fear names Sita's vulnerability while unknowingly revealing the sacred power her presence will carry.
Kausalya fears the poison garden, not yet seeing how the herb of life may sanctify its ground.

करि केहरि निसिचर चरहिं दुष्ट जंतु बन भूरि। बिष बाटिकाँ कि सोह सुत सुभग सजीवनि मूरि।।59।।
Elephants, lions, and rakshasas roam there; the forest teems with vicious creatures. Does a lovely sajivani muri, the herb of life itself, belong in a garden of poison, dear son?
