The king lies sunk in swoon until remembrance of Ram moves through him. Life returns enough for Dasharatha to turn upon his side.

Sumantra announces that Ram has arrived and offers the humble words suited to the terrible moment. The name becomes message, presence, and medicine at once.

Dasharatha cannot escape the demand waiting in the chamber, but Ram's nearness draws him back from unconsciousness. The chamber seems to breathe again. Love that caused the collapse also restores awareness, because even pain cannot refuse the beloved when he stands at the door.

At the announcement of Ram, the fallen king turns toward life and toward the grief he must now face.

Read the passage from the Manas

गइ मुरुछा रामहि सुमिरि नृप फिरि करवट लीन्ह। सचिव राम आगमन कहि बिनय समय सम कीन्ह।।43।।

The king's muruchhaa (swoon) lifted the moment he remembered Rama. He turned on his side. The sachiv (minister, Sumantra) announced Shri Rama's arrival and made a humble request, fitting to the moment.
