At the very moment Ram reflects upon the brothers' shared life, Lakshmana arrives. Love has already absorbed him before any word is spoken.

Ram, moon to the night blooming lotus of Raghu's line, receives him with honour and tender welcome. The brother whose exclusion troubled Ram's heart appears directly before him.

The brief meeting makes inward affection visible. Coronation preparations fill the city, but within Ram's chamber the central movement is one brother rising to receive another. Sovereignty begins here as tenderness that notices who might stand outside the offered glory and draws him near.

As Lakshmana enters, Ram's concern for brotherhood takes beloved form before him.

At that very moment, Lakshmana arrived, immersed in the bliss of love. Rama, the moon to the night-blooming lotus of the Raghu dynasty, honoured him and spoke tender words of welcome. (Doha 10)
