The counsel of white hair becomes resolve within Dasharatha's heart. He considers the day, the hour, and the sacred order required for a decision that will shape Ayodhya after him.
Then the king goes to Vasishtha. Love thrills through his aging body and joy fills his mind as he approaches the guru before whom royal intention must become dharmic action.
Dasharatha lays his wish before the sage. He does not announce the coronation as accomplished or use affection as authority. The crown remains within the chamber of counsel until wisdom blesses it. A father's delight bows before the lineage that guards the kingdom's deeper law.
With joy trembling through him, Dasharatha places Ram's crown first at the feet of the guru.

यह बिचारु उर आनि नृप सुदिनु सुअवसरु पाइ। प्रेम पुलकि तन मुदित मन गुरहि सुनायउ जाइ।।2।।
Bringing this resolve into his heart, and finding an auspicious day and a fitting moment, the king went to the guru. His body was thrilling with love, his mind brimming with joy, and he laid his wish before Vasishtha.
