Kausalya's simple, tender speech overwhelms Bharata. His lotus eyes pour tears as though watering fresh shoots of separation breaking through the soil of his heart.
Everyone watching forgets awareness of the body. Royal hall, argument, throne, and ritual recede before the visible boundary of selfless love.
The gathering honors that boundary in silence. Bharata's grief is not resistance born from pride, and Kausalya's request is not political pressure born from ambition. Two forms of love meet at the edge where each would sacrifice itself for Ram and for the household he left.
In the royal hall, Bharata's tears water the first green shoots of a separation that will grow into service.

सानी सरल रस मातु बानी सुनि भरत ब्याकुल भए। लोचन सरोरुह स्त्रवत सींचत बिरह उर अंकुर नए।। सो दसा देखत समय तेहि बिसरी सबहि सुधि देह की। तुलसी सराहत सकल सादर सीवँ सहज सनेह की।।
Hearing his mother's words, steeped in simple sweetness, Bharat became deeply agitated. His lotus eyes overflowed with tears, watering the new sprouts of separation growing in his heart. Seeing his state at that moment, everyone forgot all awareness of their own bodies. Tulsidas praises how all present reverently honoured the boundary of natural, selfless love.
