The tumult falls away as swiftly as it arose. Across the broken field, the dying demons release their bodies with Rama's name upon their lips. Rama, Rama, passes from one fallen warrior to another until the sound that filled their last breath becomes the path by which they reach nirvana.
The treasury of compassion has destroyed his enemies in a moment by his wondrous means, yet even their defeat opens into liberation. Above the field, fear leaves the gods. Celestial flowers descend through the cleared air and settle upon the ground where the terrible host had stood.
Drums sound in heaven. The gods praise Rama again and again, then enter their radiant and many formed aerial cars. The bright vessels move away across the sky while flowers continue to fall, leaving the lone victor below in the stillness that follows divine battle.
The last cry of the fallen rises as Rama's name, and heaven answers with flowers.
Read the passage from the Manas
Crying 'Rama! Rama!' as they gave up their bodies, the demons attained the state beyond all sorrow. In a single moment, Kripaanidhaan (the treasury of mercy) destroyed his enemies through divine strategy. Overjoyed, the gods showered flowers from the sky. Celestial drums resounded in the heavens. Offering praise after praise, they departed in their splendid and varied vimaanas.
