The Same Glory Becomes Freedom or Deeper Delusion

Shiva speaks quietly to Uma before the forest deeds unfold. Rama's qualities are deep, their bottom hidden even from an intellect trained to descend into sacred meaning. Learned ones and sages hear them, and detachment begins to open within the heart.
Yet the same account reaches those who have turned from Hari and feel no love for dharma. In them it does not ripen as freedom. Their confusion thickens, for a closed heart bends even holy narration toward its own blindness.
The difference does not lie in Rama's glory. That radiance remains pure and whole. The listener brings the chamber in which it will be received. Reverence makes space, discernment recognizes what is being shown, and the story loosens the world's claim. Aversion receives the same light but guards the knot it came to untie.
Rama's glory is one, yet the listening heart decides whether its dawn reveals a path or another veil.
Read the passage from the Manas
उमा राम गुन गूढ़ पंडित मुनि पावहिं बिरति। पावहिं मोह बिमूढ़ जे हरि बिमुख न धर्म रति।।
Shiva speaks to Uma: Rama's guna are deep and subtle. When wise pandits and munis hear them, they gain vairaagya, true detachment from the world. But the foolish ones who turn away from Hari, who have no love for dharma; hearing these same glories, they sink deeper into moha. The same sun that ripens fruit also scorches the desert. It is not the light that differs, but what it falls upon.
