हे नीलकण्ठ ! भगवन् ! महनीयकीर्ते ! ज्ञातो न कोऽपि भगवत्सदृशो वदान्यः । वाञ्छां ममापि परिपूरय शीघ्रमेकां मह्यं प्रदेहि रघुनाथपदानुरागम् ॥ १ ॥
O Blue-throated Lord, God of exalted fame! No benefactor comparable to you is known. Quickly fulfil this one desire of mine: grant me love for the feet of Raghunātha.

यद्भासैव विभाति विश्वमखिलं यस्मान्न तत्वं परम् आनन्दैकमयो हरप्रियतरः शान्तस्सदैवाक्रियः । चिद्रूपो त्रिगुणादिदोषरहितो नित्यो निरीहो महान् तं ध्यायेत्सदचिन्त्यरूपमनिशं रामं परं पूरुषम् ॥ २ ॥
One should ceaselessly meditate on that Rāma, the supreme Person: by his radiance the entire universe shines; no reality is higher than him; he is made of bliss alone, most dear to Hara, ever peaceful and inactive, consciousness itself, free from faults beginning with the three guṇas, eternal, desireless, great, and forever inconceivable in form.

यस्य भ्रूभङ्ग मात्रेण लीयते सकलं जगत् । तं सर्वकामदं रामं वन्देऽहं रघुनंदनम् ॥ ३ ॥
I bow to that Rāma, Raghunandana, who grants every desire and at the mere bending of whose brow the whole world dissolves.

हे राम ! हे ! रघुपते जगदेकनाथ ! हे जानकीरमण ! हे रघुवंशकेतो ! नान्यद् ममास्ति भुवने खलु वाञ्छनीयम् । गाढं प्रदेहि भगवच्चरणानुरागम् ॥ ४ ॥
O Rāma! O Raghupati, sole Lord of the world! O beloved of Jānakī, banner of Raghu’s line! There is truly nothing else in the world for me to desire. Grant me deep love for the Lord’s feet.

यस्या दुःखाग्निना दग्धा लंका सर्वा ह्यनाथवत् । तां सीतां शिरसा वन्दे भक्तानां सुखदायिनीम् ॥ ५ ॥
I bow my head to that Sītā, giver of happiness to devotees, by the fire of whose grief all Laṅkā was burned as though left without a protector.

I bow to that supreme guru in the form of Rāma, revered by the world, by even a particle of whose compassion all darkness is destroyed.

गुरवो मे बहवोऽन्ये सर्वे मे ज्ञानदायिनः । तानहं शिरसा वन्दे तमोऽज्ञानविनाशिनः ॥ ७ ॥
Many others too are my gurus; all are givers of knowledge to me. I bow my head to them, destroyers of the darkness of ignorance.

मया हि किञ्चित् सुकृतं कृतं न भक्तिं पितुर्वीक्ष्य करोमि धार्ष्ट्यम् । त्वया विभोऽहं सुदयाभिलाषी त्वद्भक्तपुत्रोऽयमवेक्षणीयः ॥ ८ ॥
I have performed no meritorious deed at all. I dare to appeal only after seeing my father’s devotion. O all-pervading Lord, I long for your great compassion: this son of your devotee should be looked upon with favour.

राज्यं धनं परिजनस्तनयः कलत्रं किं किं त्वया रघुपते भुवि मे न दत्तम् । जन्मार्तिनाशनविधौ विफलं तु सर्व मेकां दयामय ! विना भवदीय भक्तिम् ॥ ९ ॥
Kingdom, wealth, attendants, a son, a wife—what in this world have you not given me, O Raghupati? Yet for the ending of birth’s anguish all of it is fruitless, Compassionate One, without this single gift: devotion to you.

जराग्रस्तं जीर्णं भवति तव देहं प्रतिदिनम् न कश्चिद्विश्वासो निपतति कृतान्तस्त्वयि कदा । तथाप्याश्चर्यं भो ! न तव विरतिर्निन्द्यविषयात् गतो वाद्यापि त्वं न हि रघुपतेः पादशरणम् ॥ १० ॥
Day by day your body, seized by age, grows worn. There is no certainty when Death will fall upon you. Yet—astonishing!—you have no withdrawal from blameworthy sense-objects, and even now you have not gone for refuge at Raghupati’s feet.

गतस्य कालस्य कुतोपलब्धिः सर्वं भविष्यन्तु हरावधीनम् । अस्मिन्नतस्त्वं कुरु वर्तमाने ध्यानेन रामः सफलं हि जन्म ॥ ११ ॥
How can time that has passed be recovered? Whatever is to come rests under Hari’s power. Therefore, in this present moment, make your birth fruitful through meditation on Rāma.

यत्स्पर्शनाद् गौतमधर्मपत्नी विमुक्तपापा हि गता पतिं सा । तद्रामपादाम्बुजपुण्यधूलेः पुनातु सद्यः स्मरणं मनो मे ॥ १२ ॥
By its touch Gautama’s lawful wife was freed from sin and restored to her husband. May immediate remembrance of that sacred dust from Rāma’s lotus feet purify my mind.

गायं -गायं रघुवरगुणान् पावनान् श्रोत्ररम्यान् वारं -वारं सुमनसि जपद्रामनामैकमंत्रम् । ध्यायं -ध्यायं जलधरनिभं मंजुलं रामरूपम् वेदं-वेदं दृढ़हरिरतिं यातु मे शेषमायुः ॥ १३ ॥
May the remainder of my life pass singing again and again Raghūttama’s purifying, ear-delighting virtues; repeatedly reciting within the good mind the one mantra of Rāma’s name; meditating again and again on Rāma’s lovely, rain-cloud-dark form; and knowing ever more a firm love for Hari.
