जनक बिलोकि बार-बार रघुबरको। मुनिपद सीस नाय, आयसु-असीस पाय, एई बातें कहत गवन कियो घरको॥ १ ॥ नींद न परति राति, प्रेम-पन एक भाँति, सोचत, सकोचत बिरंचि-हरि-हरको। तुम्हते सुगम सब देव! देखिबेको अब जस हंस किए जोगवत जुग परको॥ २ ॥ ल्याए संग कौसिक, सुनाए कहि गुनगन, आए देखि दिनकर कुल-दिनकरको। तुलसी तेऊ सनेहको सुभाउ बाउ मानो चलदलको सो पात करै चित चरको॥ ३ ॥
Janaka gazes again and again upon Raghubara. Bowing his head at the sage's feet and receiving permission and blessing, he departed for home speaking only of these things. (1) Sleep did not come at night: his love and his vow pulled equally, and in worry he put Brahmā, Hari, and Hara themselves in a quandary. ‘Through you, O gods, all is easy; now let me see,’ he prayed, making his fame a swan and carefully guarding both its wings. (2) Kauśika brought the brothers with him and proclaimed their many virtues. Seeing the sun of the solar dynasty arrive, Tulsī says the natural wind of affection made Janaka's heart tremble like a leaf upon a moving branch. (3)
