Kausalyā shines upon a lovely bed with the beautiful child Rāma in her lap. Again and again she gazes on his moon-face, turning her lovely eyes into cakora birds. (1) At times she reclines and nurses him; at times she holds him against her heart. Singing of his childhood play, she rocks him and thrills as she drinks the nectar of love. (2) Brahmā, Maheśa, sages, and gods all look on longingly from behind the clouds. Tulsīdāsa says: no one else has obtained such joy from Raghupati. (3)
