Chapter Eight: Literature of the Rasika Tradition in Hindi

They are full of love, steadfast in its vow, their bodies beyond body and without boundary.
Yugalananyasharan longs to behold their pure and beautiful desire.

The Supreme Lord is met by repeating the Name.
Behold with divine eyes, for the excellent scriptures and Vedas have established it.
One no longer trembles before worldly becoming, great delusion, pride, and the rest.
They never appear face to face; like serpents before Garuda, they perish.
The incomparable inner sound of the sky appears moment by moment within the absorbed mind.
Intoxicated by indescribable beauty, the soul discovers its secret through the guru’s purifying word.

Yugalananyasharan says: the eyes remain immersed in the Supreme Beloved’s secret taste.

Attain the supreme station and the radiance of love for the Husband, putting scriptural calculation and worldly shame to shame.

Hearing and contemplating the incomparable majesty, qualities, and supremacy of the Name, worship its taste and glory.
Yoga, excellent detachment, knowledge, and devotion arise every instant and drive suffering away.
Yugalananyasharan says: dwelling in the nectar-abode, sound the drum of ever-new affection without fear.

Blessed is the person who drinks Rama’s rasa.
Loving gods, sages, and lords of sages praise that person’s stainless fortune.
Mind becomes absorbed in the rhythm and attachment of love, abandoning the threefold darkness and identification with the body.
Intoxicated yet awake, filled with ardour and wholly absorbed, the understanding is coloured by transcendent love.
Yugalananyasharan says: such people are the true, eternal lovers, pure and detached.

Lovingly pronounce Rama’s Name, the essence of every mantra.
Consider within the heart that the multitude of other practices is powerless before its benefit.
Hold forever in meditation its pure peace and stainless nature.
Do not delay for even an instant in obeying the command of Sitapati, the Supreme Lord—
