Chapter Six: The Rasika Lineage of Rama Worship

—13. Purnananda received it and gave it to Shriyananda; the great yogi Haryananda served Shriyananda’s feet. 14. Haryananda’s disciple was Raghavananda, whose disciple became Ramananda—Hari himself. 15. The wise Anantananda, crown jewel of Ramananda’s all-knowing disciples and abode of noble qualities, followed him. 16. Gayadas approached Anantananda, received the jewel of the mantra, and gave it to Lakshmidas. 17. Madhavadas received the six syllables from him. The teacher known as Khoji then received the mantra. 18. The great sage Khoji gave it to Khemadas; Narayanadas next received the six syllables. 19. The brilliant devotee-king, an abode of compassion, gave the mantra to Nrisinghadas, who gave it to Ramadas. 20. Haridas then received it and lovingly gave the jewel of the mantra to the wise Kriparam. 21. Kriparam gave the great mantra to Krishnadas; Santoshadas next received it. 22. Then came Raghunathadas and Purnadas, who received it and gave it to Brihaddas Kashthadhari. 23. He gave the supreme mantra to Bhagavandas, who gave it to Ramagaloladas. 24. Ramagaloladas gave it to Nrisinghadas, who gave the jewel of the mantra—the source of welfare for every being—to Kamaladas. 25. Through Kamaladas’s service, Manvajyangadas received the Rama mantra and attained fulfilment. 26. Whoever faithfully recites this lineage of former teachers each day will develop love for the mantra-king and truly reach Rama’s feet.

In Prapatti-rahasya, Sri Kantasharan brings Agrasvami’s lineage up to his own time. The section opens:

I bow to Ramananda, versed in Veda and Vedanta, giver of the Rama mantra and benefactor of every world.
