Chapter Three: The Madhura Disposition in India's Inner (Esoteric) Religious Disciplines
You are my father and mother; you are Gayatri, Mother of the Veda.
You are the mantra and you are the Tantra;
you are the very essence of worship.
That is:
You alone are my mother and father; you are Gayatri, Mother of the Veda.
From you arise every Tantra and mantra; you are the original spring of worship's rasa.
This is the state of bliss found in love-practice. The Taittirīya Upaniṣad declares bliss to be identical with Brahman and holds that from it all beings arise, through it all are sustained, and into it all finally enter:1
“He knew bliss as Brahman. From bliss alone, indeed, these beings are born. Having been born, they live by bliss; and into bliss they enter and become absorbed.”
