This is the messenger-duty of a superior sharp friend. A message to the friend after Kṛṣṇa has gone behind her: Gather the pearls here that fell from my neck when the vines caught it. Hari is nearby, his mind absorbed in making a garland. Fortunate girl, it is well that we reached the slope safely, for his flute slipped from his hand. I shall go on the pretense of concealing it upon the mountain.

Deceiving the husband and other guardians: This dark-limbed young celibate, a disciple of Garga, is expert in ritual. I brought him into the house at dawn so that Rādhā could worship the sun. Therefore, cowherd man, go milk the tawny, red, sun-loving cow and bring the milk. Meanwhile I shall make a garland with these lotuses.

For example: Without Kṛṣṇa, Rādhā torments my mind on every side; without Rādhā, Kṛṣṇa too, alas, makes me distraught, friend. May I never take birth in a condition where, even for a moment, I cannot simultaneously drink with my pair of eyes the moonlike faces of that pair who milk every instant of its joy.
