Obeisance to Śrī Kṛṣṇa. He broke the twin arjuna trees, delights those who take refuge, subdued the serpent, and bears a mass of splendid dance. He is sovereign of the cowherds, enters the mountain caves, is exceedingly beautiful, and carries a lotus in his hand. Worshiped by the finest cowherd brides, he holds a new flute of deep resonance; expert in Love's joking, unique in every way, his bodily marks are most skillful and auspicious.

He is a thunderbolt cage protecting those who bow, tawny in his fine cloth, a lion against the elephants of his enemies, and moon-faced. He guards the herds of cows, imitates the birds, is supremely generous, and is boundless joy itself. Great mineral pigments ornament him; he is learned in conciliation and broke Indra's sacrifice. He is the sun for Vraja's lotus, bright with curls and gorocanā, and his nails are deeply copper-red.

His moving eyebrow-vine releases arrows sharpened by the maddened lord of love. He contracts the pride of the arrogant, is lotus-eyed, frees one from sin, and is bowed to by hosts of immortals. Supreme above all, fragrant and radiant, he delights in the most venerable cowherd women. His feet are tender shoots; his wondrous, playful gait possesses a beauty difficult even for the beloved of Abhramu to attain.

His arms spread broadly above, and in the forests he moves with bracelets bent by obstacles. Smeared with butter and attended by bees of the woods, he draws upon the sweet voice of the cuckoo. He is fire to the dry grass of wicked people, the protector of companies of young followers, and his lips are red petals. By his own valor he displayed the strength that torments proud demons and even mighty serpents.
