अथ श्रीचैतन्यदेवस्य तृतीयाष्टकं उपासितपदाम्बुजस्त्वमनुरक्तरुद्रादिभिः प्रपद्य पुरुषोत्तमं पदमदभ्रमुद्भ्राजितः । समस्तनतमण्डलीस्फुरदभीष्टकल्पद्रुमः शचीसुत मयि प्रभो कुरु मुकुन्द मन्दे कृपाम् ॥ १॥

atha śrīcaitanyadevasya tṛtīyāṣṭakaṃ upāsitapadāmbujastvamanuraktarudrādibhiḥ prapadya puruṣottamaṃ padamadabhramudbhrājitaḥ | samastanatamaṇḍalīsphuradabhīṣṭakalpadrumaḥ śacīsuta mayi prabho kuru mukunda mande kṛpām || 1||

Now begins the third eight-verse hymn to Śrī Caitanya. Rudra and the other gods, filled with love for you, worship your lotus feet. Having attained the greatly radiant abode of Puruṣottama, you stand as the wish-fulfilling tree that reveals the desires of every assembly bowing before you. O son of Śacī, O Lord Mukunda, show mercy to this dull-witted soul.

न वर्णयितुमीशते गुरुतरावतारायिता भवन्तमुरुबुद्धयो न खलु सार्वभौमादयः । परो भवतु तत्र कः पटुरतो नमस्ते परं शचीसुत मयि प्रभो कुरु मुकुन्द मन्दे कृपाम् ॥ २॥

na varṇayitumīśate gurutarāvatārāyitā bhavantamurubuddhayo na khalu sārvabhaumādayaḥ | paro bhavatu tatra kaḥ paṭurato namaste paraṃ śacīsuta mayi prabho kuru mukunda mande kṛpām || 2||

Not even men of immense intelligence such as Sārvabhauma can describe how you have assumed this most exalted descent. Who else, then, could be capable? I therefore offer you only obeisance. O son of Śacī, O Lord Mukunda, show mercy to this dull-witted soul.

न यत् कथमपि श्रुतावुपनिषद्भिरप्याहितं स्वयं च विवृतं न यद् गुरुतरावतारान्तरे । क्षिपन्नसि रसाम्बुधे तदिह भाक्तरत्नं क्षितौ शचीसुत मयि प्रभो कुरु मुकुन्द मन्दे कृपाम् ॥ ३॥

na yat kathamapi śrutāvupaniṣadbhirapyāhitaṃ svayaṃ ca vivṛtaṃ na yad gurutarāvatārāntare | kṣipannasi rasāmbudhe tadiha bhāktaratnaṃ kṣitau śacīsuta mayi prabho kuru mukunda mande kṛpām || 3||

You cast upon the earth this jewel of devotion from the ocean of rasa—a treasure that the Upaniṣads had never established in revelation and that you yourself had not disclosed in any other mighty descent. O son of Śacī, O Lord Mukunda, show mercy to this dull-witted soul.

निजप्रणयविस्फुरन्नटनरङ्गविस्मापित त्रिनेत्रनतमण्डलप्रकटितानुरागामृत । अहङ्कृतिकलङ्कितोद्धतजनादिदुर्बोध हे शचीसुत मयि प्रभो कुरु मुकुन्द मन्दे कृपाम् ॥ ४॥

nijapraṇayavisphurannaṭanaraṅgavismāpita trinetranatamaṇḍalaprakaṭitānurāgāmṛta | ahaṅkṛtikalaṅkitoddhatajanādidurbodha he śacīsuta mayi prabho kuru mukunda mande kṛpām || 4||

Your dancing, radiant with your own love, astonishes the bowed circle of three-eyed Śiva and openly reveals the nectar of loving attachment. You are incomprehensible to the proud and arrogant whose hearts are stained by ego. O son of Śacī, O Lord Mukunda, show mercy to this dull-witted soul.

भवन्ति भुवि ये नराः कलितदुष्कुलोत्पत्तय स्त्वमुद्धरसि तान् अपि प्रचुरचारुकारुण्यतः । इति प्रमुदितान्तरः शरणमाश्रितस्त्वामहं शचीसुत मयि प्रभो कुरु मुकुन्द मन्दे कृपाम् ॥ ५॥

bhavanti bhuvi ye narāḥ kalitaduṣkulotpattaya stvamuddharasi tān api pracuracārukāruṇyataḥ | iti pramuditāntaraḥ śaraṇamāśritastvāmahaṃ śacīsuta mayi prabho kuru mukunda mande kṛpām || 5||

मुखाम्बुजपरिस्खलन्मृदुलवाङ्मधूलीरस प्रसङ्गजनिताखिलप्रणतभृङ्गरङ्गोत्कर । समस्तजनमङ्गलप्रभवनामरत्नाम्बुधे शचीसुत मयि प्रभो कुरु मुकुन्द मन्दे कृपाम् ॥ ६॥

mukhāmbujapariskhalanmṛdulavāṅmadhūlīrasa prasaṅgajanitākhilapraṇatabhṛṅgaraṅgotkara | samastajanamaṅgalaprabhavanāmaratnāmbudhe śacīsuta mayi prabho kuru mukunda mande kṛpām || 6||

The honeyed nectar of tender words slips from your lotus mouth, stirring festivals among all the bowed devotees who gather like bees. You are an ocean of jewel-like names from which all welfare for every being arises. O son of Śacī, O Lord Mukunda, show mercy to this dull-witted soul.

मृगाङ्कमधुरानन स्फुरदनिद्रपद्मेक्षण स्मितस्तवकसुन्दराधर विशङ्कटोरस्तटे । भुजोद्धतभुजङ्गमप्रभ मनोजकोटिद्युते शचीसुत मयि प्रभो कुरु मुकुन्द मन्दे कृपाम् ॥ ७॥

mṛgāṅkamadhurānana sphuradanidrapadmekṣaṇa smitastavakasundarādhara viśaṅkaṭorastaṭe | bhujoddhatabhujaṅgamaprabha manojakoṭidyute śacīsuta mayi prabho kuru mukunda mande kṛpām || 7||

Your face is sweet as the moon; your sleepless eyes are blossoming lotuses; your lips are beautiful with clusters of smiles; your broad chest is magnificent; your raised arms shine like great serpents; and your splendor equals millions of Love-gods. अहं कनककेतकीकुसुमगौर दुष्टः क्षितौ न दोषलवदर्शिता विविधदोषपूर्णेऽपि ते । अतः प्रवणया धिया कृपणवत्सल त्वां भजे शचीसुत मयि प्रभो कुरु मुकुन्द मन्दे कृपाम् ॥ ८॥

ahaṃ kanakaketakīkusumagaura duṣṭaḥ kṣitau na doṣalavadarśitā vividhadoṣapūrṇe'pi te | ataḥ pravaṇayā dhiyā kṛpaṇavatsala tvāṃ bhaje śacīsuta mayi prabho kuru mukunda mande kṛpām || 8||

O golden one, fair as a ketakī blossom, I am corrupt upon this earth, yet you do not notice even the slightest fault in me though I am full of many faults. Therefore, with a mind bowed low, I worship you, tender guardian of the destitute. O son of Śacī, O Lord Mukunda, show mercy to this dull-witted soul.

इदं धरणिमण्डलोत्सव भवत्पदाङ्केषु ये निविष्टमनसो नराः परिपठन्ति पद्याष्टकम् । शचीहृदयनन्दन प्रकटकीर्तिचन्द्र प्रभो निजप्रणयनिर्भरं वितर देव तेभ्यः शुभम् ॥ ९॥

idaṃ dharaṇimaṇḍalotsava bhavatpadāṅkeṣu ye niviṣṭamanaso narāḥ paripaṭhanti padyāṣṭakam | śacīhṛdayanandana prakaṭakīrticandra prabho nijapraṇayanirbharaṃ vitara deva tebhyaḥ śubham || 9||

English translation

O festival of the circle of the earth, those whose minds enter the marks of your feet and who recite these eight verses—O joy of Śacī's heart, O Lord, moon of manifest fame—bestow upon them auspiciousness filled with your own intimate love.
