Obeisance to Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa. Meditation: Let us meditate upon Dāmodara, whose surrounding waves of dark bodily splendor make the blue lotus seem dull; the brilliance of his silk garment leaves the glow of saffron inert. He revels in Vṛndāvana forest, fragrant with the shining garlands upon his heart, and places his radiant arm upon Rādhā's shoulder. Now begins the Ānanda-candrikā hymn to Śrī Rādhikā. Obeisance to Śrī Rādhikā. She is most dear to Rādhā-Dāmodara: Rādhikā, daughter of Vṛṣabhānu, the jasmine crest-flower upon the braided hair of the entire company of cowherd women.
