“Daughter, I shall give you a basket filled with gold; and I shall give the honored groom a horse to ride.”
Pada 17
Gracious Queen Sunayana, the foremost of fortunate married women, summoned all her daughters. She arranged the four daughters’ garments and ornaments, and sent them forth to worship Kamala.
All their companions were filled with supreme bliss, singing sweetly in the fifth mode. Uma, Rama, and Brahmani gathered in many forms; joining Siya’s companions, they offered themselves to her.
The instruments sounded with surpassing sweetness; their beauty cannot be described. At every step their lotus feet touched the path, revealing exquisite grace.
Drawing near, they bowed their heads in every prescribed way and called to the goddess with devotion. Sri Kamala at once appeared and bestowed her blessing; cries of “Victory! Victory!” filled the air.
The four princesses worshiped her according to the rite and obtained the husbands their hearts desired. Taking earth from the bank, all bowed their heads and departed, after the sprouted grain and other offerings had been distributed.
Seeing this mystery, even the delighted heavenly women longed for it. Their joy could not be contained; they offered mind, understanding, and heart in devotion.

Today Vaidehi duly performs her worship on Kamala’s bank; the gathered women sing auspiciously—who could tell its full extent? Her eyes lowered from modesty before the world, her face is grave, while Raghubara reigns in the temple of her heart and every limb thrills.
