Snehalatika desires to cling to those feet. Whatever is destined to happen shall happen only through them.
Pada 190
Maharani Sita, become the guardian even of one so fallen as I; my sole hope is in your feet. I have practiced no karma and no dharma; all my days have passed in pleasure and comfort. Yet my birth occurred within the city of Mithila, and in that alone lies my trust and confidence. Brahma, Hari, Hara, gods, humans, sages, and kinnara—all place their hope in this one abode. Snehalata, too, has fixed her hope there: grant her a dwelling at your feet.
Pada 191
The cord of my hopes is tied toward the lotus feet of my sovereign lady. You alone know what lies within; recognize this thirsty heart and cast upon it one corner of grace. This vine of love is very old; it has withered for want of water—water it now and make it flourish again. Sovereign Lady, preserve your natural character. Knowing me to have no refuge, do not abandon me now; I have no other hand to grasp. May I always meditate upon the divine pair and sing their rasa-filled virtues with my tongue, immersing every pore in rasa.
Pada 192
Look, look, dear friend, upon the bride who is my companion—her beloved suits her perfectly. The moon-jewel upon her head shames the moon; seeing it, even Rati and Kama are spellbound. Her masses of dark curling hair work havoc, their locks spreading across the face of the lovely woman. Behold the sparkle of her earrings and the buoyant movement of her nose-ring, dear friend!
