Translation of page 127

They are the essential form of rasa, where eternal happiness overflows; they are a mine of blessed virtues and devotion, my refuge until death. Show but a little affection and the heart of your servant is fulfilled—your renowned generosity exists to sustain and protect us.

Pada 182

Our Sita is the very limit of beauty. In every limb dwell countless Lakshmis and Ratis; faced with them, all comparison is left without support. Beholding the radiance of her face, the moon withdrew into the sky in shame and sorrow. She is her beloved's very life, the life-restoring herb; separation from her brings terrible pain. Every moment the companions circle mustard seed and salt around her to ward off the evil eye. Mod beholds the sweetness of her lovely limbs, yet cannot drink enough of it.

Pada 183

Dear one, your beloved's eyes have become chakora birds before your moonlike face. They do not wish to turn away even for an instant; it seems that the Creator gave them life only for this sight. The connoisseur of rasa never accepts restraint, once he has drunk the nectar of your beauty. Blessed, blessed is your wedded fortune; blessed is this abundant happiness bestowed upon you. The Creator alone knows the taste of this supreme rasa—without your grace, it cannot be put into words.

Pada 184

How beautifully our sovereign Sita has been adorned! Millions of suns and moons are shamed before her radiance; every comparison has proved insipid. Adorned for the wedding, every limb of the lovely, captivating bride shines. Blessed is your fortune, bridegroom of Ayodhya, to have received so excellent a bride! Bridegroom and bride, live forever in happiness—this is the blessing of Sita's companion.
