I offer myself to Priya’s eyes! Filled with feeling and filled with rasa, they enchant even the wanderer of Ayodhya. Their glances are playful and clever, stealing the heart; their every curve and movement possesses a beauty all its own.
They shatter sorrow and pour out happiness, becoming a wellspring of joy. The wise beloved, steeped in love, is ever conquered by their fresh rasa. Hemalata sacrifices every comparison before them and remains gazing without a blink.

How graceful is the speech of the cherished girl! The rasika beloved hears it with delight, and the lovely pleasure in his heart grows fourfold. Mango nectar, ambrosia, crystallized sugar, and a hundred moons— beside the sweetness of her simple, beautiful words, all seem insipid.
Her speech is priceless; the mind strains to weigh it, yet the virtues of every lineage seem small before it. It shines within her auspicious, moonlike face like a sacred blossom amid the stars. Hemalata says: her words are steeped in rasa, an herb of immortality for life itself.
