॥ रेखता मूलताल ॥ मिली तन प्यार सों प्यारी, खुली मन इश्क गुलजारी। सखी सों श्याम की बातें कही हैं जोइ रातें॥ १ ॥ मिला था ख्वाब में अलमस्त, भरा था री छातीं दस्त। उठी मैं चमक मन बहरम, न देखा सेज का महरम॥ २ ॥ हुआ मन हाल दरहाला, मिले जालम जुलुफ वाला। न जानौं चश्म दुखदाई, खुशी में डाल फिकराई॥ ३ ॥ लगे बेदर्द मासूका, परी मैं दर्द बस कूका। कृपानिवास तिन रतियाँ लगी हैं राम की बतियाँ॥ ४ ॥ २३ ॥
Fresh English translation
My body met the Beloved and became dear; love's rose-garden opened in my mind. Friend, these are the things of the dark One that happened in the night. In a dream I met the one intoxicated beyond himself; his hands filled my breast in an embrace. I started awake in confusion, but the intimate of my bed was nowhere to be seen. My heart fell into a state beyond all states after meeting that curl-haired tyrant. I do not know whether those eyes bring pain or cast anxious thought into joy. The merciless Beloved has struck me; fallen under pain's command, I cry out. Says Kripanivasa: through those nights Rama's words have fastened themselves within me.
