Fresh English translation
Attachment has stripped away pride and possessions and made me poor, humble, and defeated in mind. Exhausted at the Beloved's door, I cannot move; I have forgotten the desire for either pleasure or pain. Lust, anger, pride, and delusion are forgotten; work, shame, and family standing have been cast aside. Leaving mother, father, children, kin, friends, and household, I have become separate from all. I perform no worldly action and am not misled by wandering notions; yoga, enjoyment, and the world's business have been put away. Apart from the Beloved I have no entanglement—my bond is tied only to attachment. The cord of my mind reaches as far as that one love and catches there. To distribute love from person to person is merely age after age of humiliation. I know the regard of others as poison and the Beloved's rebuke as nectar. Others may grant me a house and home, but without the Beloved I shall keep calling from the farther shore. Crying 'alas' and 'ah,' defeated again and again, I have lost my heart. Says Kripanivasa: worshipping Rama and Sita, I have surrendered mind, wealth, and everything.
