Chapter Six — The Devotees Who Embody the Five Rasas
Śrīmad-Raghupatiṃ sākṣād brahma sarva-parātparam,
Jñātvā bhajati yo nityaṃ sa vai śānta-rasāśrayaḥ. (23)
One who knows glorious Raghupati directly as Brahman, supreme beyond every other power, and worships him eternally together with Sri Kishori takes shelter in the peaceful rasa.
Śrī-Rāmaṃ karuṇā-sindhuṃ bhakta-saṃrakṣaṇe param,
Buddhvā bhajati yo nityaṃ sa vai dāsya-rasāśrayaḥ. (24)
One who understands Sri Rama as the ocean of compassion, wholly intent upon protecting his devotees, and worships him constantly takes shelter in the rasa of loving service.
Śrī-Raghunandanaṃ mitraṃ prema-pātraṃ vibudhya ca,
Snehena ramate nityaṃ sa hi sakhya-rasāśrayaḥ. (25)
One who recognizes Sri Raghunandana as an intimate friend and recipient of love, and who always delights with him in affection, takes shelter in the rasa of friendship.
Bālaṃ saundarya-sahitaṃ komalāṅgaṃ pramodadam,
Sarvadā jīvanaṃ matvā sa vai vātsalya-saṃjñakaḥ. (26)
One who regards the beautiful, tender-limbed, joy-giving divine Child as one’s very life at all times is known as a devotee of parental love.
