A Request for Forgiveness

I ask the readers’ forgiveness. Though unqualified, I ventured to write and undertake the work of printing. This is the work of learned people; this servant of servants never attended school and became able to understand only a few letters through refuge in the Guru’s grace.

I had been wandering through this world without mother or father when Sri Sri 108 Swami Ramnarayan Das Ji Maharaj—of the Sri Ramananda tradition, rich in compassion and mercy, exclusively established in the servant disposition and in devotion to the King of rasa, an ornament of the lineage of Sri Agradas Acharya, an infinitely honored foremost acharya and sun to the lotus of rasa, a vessel for crossing the ocean of the mysteries of Sita and Rama—bestowed causeless grace upon me. He resides at the Sri Rama-Janaki Temple, Amargohivan, Post Saivari, District Rohtas, Bihar.

He performed the five sacraments, repeatedly explained and taught me the Couple’s mantra, Hanuman’s mantra, the mantra-rahasya, and the final mantra, and gave me even this small knowledge of letters. Moved by his causeless grace, in 1970 he placed me in sacred Ayodhya beneath the dense shade of the vine of grace of Sri Sadgurudev Ji at the Charushila Temple, and granted me the blessed opportunity of holy company.

This servant of servants therefore wishes to remain indebted, birth after birth, to the feet of both lines of acharyas.

I pray that readers will correct the errors as they read and forgive every mistake.

Longing for the nectar of the lotus feet of the rasika saints and devotees of Sita and Rama,

The servant of servants, Vasudev Das
Charushila Temple, Janaki Ghat, Ayodhya
